==== Gitlab Server ====

The gitlab server is based on the "public gitlab" project

which is forked from 

https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq

Today version 5.4 is installed (June 2014). The difference between "public gitlab" and the standard gitlab is basically, that anonymous user can view the code of the public projects. 

As of version 6.2 the standard gitlab provides a public mode. So an upgrade could be based on the official repository with version "6-9-stable" as the latest (June 2014).
