Target Group

Some people, especially in creative fields, may experience a lack of ideas, follow-through, or enthusiasm. This is sometimes known as “being in a rut".

As a mission to help people that feel creatively stuck, we started to look for updated information and techniques that can be used to help you get back to success.
 

Goal

This app provides to our target group a way to enhance their activeness, creativity, and mental wellness in their routines.

The main objective is to help them have quick entertaining breaks from work to make them more productive during the day. It influences people to engage in fun activities that they might not be motivated to do on their own.

Development process

Following an iterative process and including incremental feedback gathered from UX methodologies and tests with low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, we created the app Maracas.

We defined the categories active and creative before, which are meant to help keep the user physically active and train their creativity. However, we decided that we should include a wellbeing/wellness category, which focused on finding a better work/life balance


 

The App

After the 3-day explorative the user would have the option to do another different 3-day challenge or start a 7-day challenge based on one of the categories we mentioned: active, creative and wellness.

We realised that the experience is more rewarding when you can compare with others and share impressions.

Therefor we included a functionality that would allow interaction with other users. We should create a forum or community where users would upload their results and check other people’s results.
