Qualification Objectives
  • The students are now able to bring together the various aspects that they studied during their first three semesters in a complex design. The climatological aspects of the site play a very important role here. Students learn to prepare and manage the design process themselves based on their own objectives. Iteration processes are practiced through the immediate integration of construction physics and building services engineering.
  • Through weekly supervision by the teaching staff, the students become planners who have to defend their own sections of the plan. A high level of careful work is expected between each correction.
  • The designs are presented as drawings and models, and quantified through thermal balancing. The building envelope and building structure enter into a dialog with the aspects of construction physics and technology.
  • The two designs serve as the students’ presentation design to be used when applying for their practical semester.- The interdisciplinary objective here is personality development, as the students have to generate independent strategies for finding solutions, give these solutions a tangible form and discuss them in the group. The students also have to include the social impact of these solutions in the design, learn how to express themselves in public and improve their presentation techniques.
