How can services or products be developed and designed responsibly? How can the social impact of digitalisation be taken into account in a sustainable way right from the development stage? The THA_digileg digitalisation college gives students the opportunity to work in interdisciplinary teams to find solutions to current social issues and problems that arise from specific practical projects.

Students from all degree programmes and faculties can use the THA_digileg in the various training focuses and "bring along" their own projects:

Possible projects can come from the various areas

  • as part of the semester projects (4th/6th semester, Master's projects)
  • as part of student research projects that are carried out in groups
  • as part of research projects

As part of the digitalisation college, you will use practical examples to develop concrete solutions to important questions of digitalisation and their interactions with society. To this end, you will not only acquire basic theoretical knowledge, but also reflect on your projects and prototypes (semester projects, final projects or projects from the THA_innolab) from an ethical perspective.

The projects are not tied to a specific degree programme or faculty, but can come from a wide variety of fields:

  • Semester projects
  • Student research projects that are carried out in groups
  • Final theses
  • Research projects

The development of new technologies always brings with it new responsibilities. The Digitalisation College provides reflective support for current research and projects, helping to anchor an ethical dimension in the development process.

The THA_digileg offers various formats for collaboration. These include, among others:

  • Impulse sessions
  • Workshops on specific ethical issues
  • Orientation events
  • Systematic project support with ethical counselling (case-related)

Individual solutions can be flexibly customised to the project. Please send enquiries to [Bitte aktivieren Sie Javascript].

Funding of the digitalisation lab

In order to qualify students for the digital transformation, digitalisation colleges throughout Bavaria are funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts and coordinated by the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt).

As part of this initiative, seven individual applications and six joint applications were recommended for funding by an independent, interdisciplinary panel of experts in a competitive process.

The THA_digileg is one of these selected colleges, which will be funded in the period from 2022 to 2026.
