For students

xxx

The THA_innolab enables students to work on innovative projects with external partners. Agile software and system development methods are used. Together with the partners, solutions to current issues of digitization are created.

The project ideas come from different sources (e.g. companies, participating students or inquiries from the Augsburg area).

Students of all computer science courses as well as the courses in interactive media and interactive media systems can use the THA_innolab in various modules:

  • as part of the semester projects (4th/6th semester, master's projects)
  • in the context of student research projects that are carried out in groups
  • in the context of research projects

To support the digitalization process in Bavaria, the state government of Bavaria has launched the Bayern Digital future strategy. As part of this initiative, ten innovation laboratories at colleges and universities were selected and supported in a competitive process. The THA_innolab is one of these selected laboratories.

For innovation partners

Developing together

Agile prototyping is a method in software development that quickly leads to initial results with the strong involvement of clients and customers. In the early stages of development, the prototypes can be examined for their applicability, feedback can be obtained from users and corrections can be made if necessary.

Economic representatives, innovators, research institutions, and pulse generators in the region can contact THA_innolab with innovative questions. The topics are examined for their feasibility and solutions are developed as prototypes within the framework of student projects within one semester.

Examples of topics are digitization of business processes, security, mobility, robotics, networks or e-health.

Funding

The Bavarian state government has developed the BAYERN DIGITAL future strategy to actively shape the process of digitalisation and exploit the opportunities of digital transformation in Bavaria.

As part of this initiative, ten innovation labs at colleges and universities were selected and supported in a competitive process. The THA_innolab was one of these selected labs, which received funding from 2017 to 2022, first from the Bavarian Centre for Digitalisation (ZD.B) and then from the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt). Augsburg University of Applied Sciences will continue to support the successful format beyond the funding period.
