High frequency systems

This working group covers the mechanical construction and the electromagnetic properties of transmission channels, such as twisted-pair cables or rotary joints, for data rates in the Gbps range and above. This requires mastery of measurement techniques in the GHz range, as well as electromagnetic field simulation, and necessitates the development of broadband channel models. The application of standardised communication electronics, as well as the development of proprietary communication solutions (physical layer) with the objective of exploiting the boundaries of the transmission channel, belong to the subject areas the group has devoted to. ↗
