Computer Centre Guidelines for Campus Card Use and Access Control to University Property

As a member of Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, you are registered in the access control system with your chip card (Campus Card Augsburg - CCA). This gives you access during opening hours to the Computer Centre’s computer rooms and the computers located there as well as to the library. Depending on your degree programme or department, you may also be granted main entrance access to your department’s building as well as access to certain rooms and storage areas.

The chip card functions as a key. Only you are allowed to use the card issued to you. Please use it appropriately. In particular, you are not allowed to lend your chip card to others or grant access to others with your card. Whenever you access a building, room or computer, the activity is anonymously recorded (chip card number). Augsburg University of Applied Sciences explicitly notes here that your presence in specific rooms at specific times can be traced back to you should questions arise in cases of misuse, damages, theft, etc. In the event of improper use of the chip card, especially if the chip card is passed on to third parties, the HSA can exercise its house rules and restrict spatial and / or temporal authorizations to access premises or withdraw them entirely.

The chip card replaces keys but does not waive any of the conditions that regulate your use of rooms, computers or other equipment. Computers and printers in Computer Centre rooms and “open” labs are available for use. Please note that use of this equipment must adhere to the user policy for the IT infrastructure at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.

You can gain access to “restricted” labs for specific purposes, such as to work on a project, final thesis or similar tasks. Your access, however, is limited to the specific computers or equipment required for your work. Please be aware of any applicable safety regulations.
