You´re planning a semester abroad in Augsburg, Germany?
Make sure to get in touch with the SWOP Team!
- Who are SWOP?
SWOP stands for “Student Welcome and Orientation Project” and we are a group of students working together with the International Office of the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (AUAS). Our team consists of voluntary German students, supporting exchange students during their time at Hochschule Augsburg.
- What does SWOP do?
We are here to help you during your first few days in Augsburg, e.g. by opening a bank account with you if necessary or by just answering all kinds of general questions about student life and studying in Augsburg. Over the course of the semester, we will then organise different activities for you, ranging from international dinners, over get-togethers to city as well as hiking trips.
We have for example been to:
> Neuschwanstein Castle
> … and many more!
- What is the Buddy Programme?
It is very important to us that you are getting in touch with German students. Therefore, every foreign student coming to AUAS will get a so-called “buddy”. A buddy is a German student who offered to help you out with further questions or in case of problems during your exchange semester. And who knows, he or she might even become one of the many friends you will make during your time in Augsburg!
