HistoryThe laboratory was set up by Prof. Baumann, moved into the F Building in 2011, and the experiment equipment has been gradually modernized since then.
Tasks and objectives

Conducting the practical training in measuring technology for Bachelor students (Mechanical Engineering, Environmental and Process Engineering): 

  • Getting to know fundamentals of working with measuring technology
  • Working with different measuring devices and sensors
Laboratory equipment

Experiment equipment for the practical training in measuring technology:

  • Strain measurement with strain gauges with digital measuring amplifiers from HBM and PCs for parameter assignment and evaluation
  • Temperature measurement with resistance thermometer, thermocouples and semiconductor sensors, digital thermostats
  • Speed measurement with mechanical and electrical sensors
  • Measurement of electrical signals with digital storage oscilloscope

 Additional laboratory equipment: 

  • Laser micrometer
  • Infrared thermometer
  • Thermal imaging camera
  • Various calipers, dial gauges, micrometers
