Content

Surviving assessment centers, finding a job, managing yourself, and working successfully in international teams.

Have you already taken at least one English course at the HSA or have you been to an English speaking country? Are you at least in your 4th semester or are you even almost finished with the university?

This is your chance to take one final English course to get you ready for the professional English you will need for your career. Regardless of what you have studied – design, engineering, business, architecture, computer science, or anything else, you are welcome in this course!

In this weekly two hour course, we will focus on communication within international teams, practice assessment center tasks in English, and work on your general communication skills in English.

We will do a project about jobs and look at what various companies have to offer to new graduates of all faculties of the HSA. It is a fun interactive course with professional training in communication strategies in English. By the end of the course, you will feel more confident to use English in your career and communicate effectively in international teams.

Your grade is based on short written assignments, oral tasks and participation points.

  • Practicing working effectively in teams
  • Assessment Center Practice in English
  • Preparing your job applications
  • Learning to sell yourself: Making winning elevator pitches
  • Finding the employer that fits
  • Improving intercultural communication
  • Learning to manage yourself, your time, and deal effectively with change
