Content

The aim of the course is to work on some basic grammatical structures and phenomena of the German language for level C1 and to practice and consolidate their use in study-relevant communication situations. To this end, we focus on the typical communicative goals of this level:

  • structured presentation of one's own thoughts (paragraph structure, structure and linking signals within one's own text, argumentation)
  • clear and confident expression in e-mail communication
  • safe and appropriate use of scientific language structures (e.g. appropriate use of the Nominalstil, Passiv and Passiversatz)

The course is thus aimed at international students who have reached at least level B2, but who wish to further develop and train their speaking and writing for truly confident use in academic and professional contexts.
