Project description

The project Hieronymus emerged from the desire to enhance the daily lives of residents in a nursing home by digitizing various aspects of their lives.

1) The "Hieronymus" project aims to support the daily lives of seniors in a nursing home through a mobile application. The app was developed in collaboration with the Förderverein Bündnis Hospital Dinkelscherben Zusmarshausen e.V. and offers various functionalities such as a photo album, a digital notice board, an interactive weekly schedule for events, and the display of the current menu. The development was carried out agilely and in coordination with the support association and the nursing home. Seniors access the app via Android tablets provided by the support association. The devices are connected through a web server based on the Go programming language. A user-friendly website was developed using the AngularJS web framework to manage the system. The project is modularly structured and can be easily expanded using gRPC and Docker to integrate additional desired features.

2) The follow-up project to "Hieronymus" is the development of a mobile app in collaboration with the Förderverein Bündnis Hospital-Dinkelscherben-Zusmarshausen, which provides an integrated management software for nursing homes.

The app was developed to complement the daily lives of nursing home residents by digitizing various aspects of their lives. In close coordination with the support association, key functionalities such as a photo album, a digital notice board, an interactive weekly schedule for events, and the display of the menu were implemented in the app. Seniors access the app via Android tablets provided by the support association. The devices are connected through a web server based on the Go programming language. A user-friendly website was developed using the AngularJS web framework to manage the system.

The project was made operational and expanded. New features such as user management, device management, the weekly planner, and the notice board were integrated. Additionally, a meal selection feature was implemented to facilitate residents' meal choices and provide the kitchen with a clear overview. These enhancements aim to further improve the daily lives of residents and the operations of the nursing home.
