4. - 7. Semester Communication Design (BA)
Illustration is a discipline positioned somewhere between fine art and design.
It is used on bookcovers, packaging, magazines, comics, storyboards, posters and
many other occasions of graphic design.
The students of this class are confronted with the
fundamental problems of illustration:
– inventing images that communicate ideas
– realizing those images in a striking way
– developing a unique personal visual language
Goals of this study:
– advancing existing drawing crafts
– enhancing capabilities of artistic expression
– corporate use of shape and form
– support students to find their own personal visual language
The class works like a studio. The contents of teaching will be communicated
while working on practical projects. This projects simulate real life processes
of the illustration business.
To take part in this class you need to have good skills in:
– representational drawing
– figurative drawing
– conceptual thinking
