How to apply in English - Bewerben in Englischer Sprache

Many international employers – including some in Germany – require English-language applications. It can be a challenge to navigate the English language job market in Germany or conduct an international internship/job search in English. Creating a winning application goes beyond simply translating your resume from your native language into English. In this workshop you will learn how to effectively present yourself both in the application and the interview when applying for jobs in English-speaking countries and/or for jobs in Germany that require an English application. In doing so, this targeted preparation will help prepare you for a global job search.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Increasingly, multinational companies in Germany are asking for applications in English, and in general, the job search is becoming more global. This workshop addresses the specifics of an English application process as well as the differences between application conventions in Germany and internationally.

The workshop follows the flow of a typical job application process: from interpreting the job description, to cover letter and resume writing, to the interview. Culture-specific dos and don'ts are addressed, and how to convincingly present yourself in English-speaking job interviews is also explained.
