Project description

SMILeCare is a sub-project of the SMILe research project, which focuses on improving the aftercare situation of patients following an allogeneic stem cell transplant. Such a transplantation becomes necessary after leukaemia, for example.
Co-operation partners are the Freiburg University Hospital and the University of Basel.

After the transplant has been carried out, various symptoms can occur more frequently, which can pose a risk to the patient.

The research project aims to determine whether recording selected symptoms and vital signs in an app leads to an improved situation for patients. These values can - if the patient so wishes - be viewed by a nurse in the hospital, who can then contact the patient if necessary.

The research project is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Basel and Freiburg University Hospital. As part of the LeuCare project, an initial prototype has already been created for the application with which patients can enter their values.

SMILeCare is concerned with the implementation of the application for carers. The application provides healthcare professionals with an overview of all patients who have received a transplant.

It is also possible to view details about individual patients. The patient's progress can be tracked using diagrams.
