University Entrance Qualification

You require a University Entrance Qualification that is recognized in Germany.

You can use the anabin or DAAD database as a guide to assess your proof of educational qualifications.

uni-assist will check your University Entrance Qualification.  You can find more details on this in the information from the Office of Academic Affairs.

The notice from uni-assist will give you information on whether you can apply for a study program directly or need to attend a preparatory college beforehand.

Caution: It takes approximately 6 weeks for uni-assist to process your application. You need the notice from uni-assist to apply to the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.

Additional requirements

In some study programs, you need to provide evidence of additional requirements (e.g. assessment test, interview, initial internship, etc.). Please refer to the web pages of the individual study programs for information.

Entrance to third-level education for qualified professionals

If you do not have a school leaving qualification to enter higher education, you may be admitted to study under certain requirements and rules for qualified professionals. You can find information on this in the Hochschulzugang für beruflich Qualifizierte ohne schulische Hochschulzugangsberechtigung document (only available in German language).

German language skills

For all German-language Bachelor programs, you need to provide evidence of adequate German language skills (see the Anerkannte Sprachprüfungen document – only available in the German language).

You can sit some German exams (e.g. TestDaF) at a test center in your home country.

It is important to start learning German as early as possible!

Intensive "German & Studying in Germany" preparatory courses are offered at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences for participants who already have advanced German language skills.
