History
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tischinger until 1986
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rößner until 2013
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roth until 2015
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hörmann since 01.01.2015
On 1 January 2015, on his appointment as professor, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Hörmann took on responsibility for the laboratory. Due to the outstanding work of his predecessors, especially Prof. Dr.-Ing. Willi Rößner, a very well-equipped laboratory is available for teaching and research. The focus of the laboratory has been on CNC technology and programming until now. At this time, ideas on redesigning the laboratory according to LEAN principles are being advanced to be able to convey these important methods to students.
Tasks and objectivesThe machines of the WML serve to supplement the theoretical learning contents with practical applications and experiments. Students have the opportunity here to implement applied research in a practical way and experience it. Furthermore, the machinery and the available workstations offer an excellent possibility of technology transfer from the University to industrial practice.
